Giroflex was founded in Switzerland in 1872, and its name reads as turn and flex. In 1926 the Stoll family invented and patented the first swivel office chair with spring suspension. Martin Stoll belongs to this dynasty of designers and engineers, and these chairs date from the 1970s.

A massive five-star base in polished aluminium gives stability, and the mechanism swivels through 360 degrees. The anatomically curved seat shell is made of layered veneered wood, and the metal armrests carry leather pads.

Seat and high back are upholstered in cushions of original natural leather in a deep olive green with buttoned detailing. The leather is in authentic condition and has kept the patina of time, with no cracks or tears.
