Kroken was designed by Åke Fribytter for the Swedish brand Nelo Möbel in the 1970s. It expresses the clean Scandinavian modernism of the decade, with organic lines, functional luxury and visual lightness.
Every part of the chair is in absolutely original condition, with no restoration. The leather is a deep, pitch black with no notable defects, dense in structure and pleasant to the touch. Base and back are made of dark beech bent under pressure, and each detail is considered, from the securing straps and back fixings to the soft removable headrest.
Its defining feature is the dynamic cantilever form: the chair seems to hover in the air and gives a springy rocking motion as you rest. A factory metal brand plate confirms its originality.
