Leolux: Dutch design since 1934
Published 2026-10-04

Leolux is a Dutch furniture brand founded in 1934, so almost a hundred years of sofas, chairs and tables. Two of its models have passed through our workshop.
The Tango sofa
Tango is an iconic late-20th-century Leolux model. Our example holds the German DGM certification (Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel), which stands for durability and safe, toxin-free materials.
It is a three-seater, in practice for three to four people, in natural leather in a deep Midnight Azure blue that shifts with the light. The armrests move, which suits resting or working with a laptop, and the seat is deep without sinking. We renewed the legs in a brass tone.
The Columna table by Hugo de Ruiter
Leolux made the Columna with the designer Hugo de Ruiter, whose work is about proportion, refinement and the balance of form.
The solid walnut top, an elongated oval with a soft edge line, was sanded and lacquered. The central metal column widens toward a round base and was repainted in a grainy matt khaki. We kept the idea of the design and reimagined the materials.
Buying vintage Leolux
Look for a maker's label, check the leather for cracks and the mechanisms for smooth movement, and ask what has been restored. Our listings state this for every piece.
